| | | Product Description | | Carbon monoxide (CO) is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America, yet many people don't know they are suffering from CO poisoning until its too late. Since symptoms of CO poisoning are like the flu, you might not even know you're in danger at first. That's why a carbon monoxide alarm is an excellent way to protect your family. It can detect the CO you can't see, smell or taste in the air. The First Alert CO615 carbon monoxide alarm uses an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor-the most accurate technology available. Installation is as simple as plugging it in to any wall outlet. Its easy-to-read backlit digital LED display gives you a clear read-out of current CO concentrations in parts per million. The alarm includes a battery back-up giving you peace of mind in a power outage. The test/silence button both silences a non-threatening alarm or low battery warning and allows you to test the unit's functionality. The unit monitors and re-alarms if carbon monoxide levels persist sounding a loud 85-decibel horn. An audible and visual low battery signal alerts you to replace the battery and an indicator alerts you when a battery has been removed. An end-of-life alarm of three chirps alerts you to replace the unit. One 9-volt battery is included. 5-year limited warranty. UL listed. --Bree Norlander What's in the Box One carbon monoxide alarm, one 9-volt battery, and user's manual | Product Details | - Plug-in carbon monoxide alarm with battery back-up and digital display

| Video Reviews | No video reviews found for this product. | Customer Reviews | Great feature - battery backup | | Review Date: January 17, 2009 | | Reviewer: CastletonTrader, Northern NY | | I bought this to replace my older detector. We lost power for 4 days and that's when I realized that without battery backup my carbon monoxide detector was useless. I needed it because we were using a kerosene heater for some heat and we got a bit ill from it. So next time we lose power and have to use emergency heaters at least we will know if the carbon monoxide levels become unsafe. |
First Alert CO615 Carbon Monoxide Alarm | | Review Date: December 30, 2008 | | Reviewer: G. Ewing, Ashtabula, Ohio | | I ordered and received this item timely from Amazon. The product was well packaged and the directions for use were easy to follow. The product is nicely constructed, easy to use, and seems to work well. I like the fact I can push one of the buttons located on the front of the unit to see if the unit has picked up any CO levels from the area it is located. It is designed to plug into a wall electrical outlet and also has a battery backup. The unit is small and appears out of the way when it is plugged in and being used. So far, the two units I bought are working well so I give this product a rating of 5 stars. |
Peace of Mind | | Review Date: February 9, 2009 | | Reviewer: Rudy1150, | I've owned this product for 3 years. Simply plug it into the wall, the unit comes with a battery for battery back up. It is very small and unobtrusive compared to my previous kidde unit and doesnt take up both outlets - nice design. There have been several reports of people getting sick or dieing from carbon monoxide poisoning - this is a small price to pay for a life safety device. It has a digital readout. This is a nice feature - if you had a problem and called the fire department they would be able to read the display to determine what level of Carbon Monoxide poisioning there way. |
Easy to Install | | Review Date: January 28, 2009 | | Reviewer: K. Wray, Summit County, CO, USA | | All the local stores in Colorado were out of stock with waiting lists for CO detectors due to media coverage of several deaths in the state. We got these in less than a week, and they were very easy to just plug into any outlet. They came with the back up batteries, so I didn't even need to supply my own. Could not have been easier, and have the best of both worlds...an A/C powered unit with back up battery that I could install myself without mounting hardware or an electrician. |
peace of mind | | Review Date: February 22, 2009 | | Reviewer: Jim R. Zeffield, Morrison, IL | | This unit gives me peace of mind. I don't have to wonder if I'm living on the edge of having a carbon monoxide problem. The display lets me know exactly where I stand. Its well worth the little extra cost. |
