Highly Recommended! | | Review Date: September 5, 2009 | | Reviewer: CFH, Blue Ridge Summit, PA USA | This Matte Finish "Magic" Tape is so much better than the generic types for most uses. It goes on totally clear on most paper, it is very strong, and the matte finish doesn't easily reflect light so it doesn't draw attention to itself. The brand name "Scotch" has become a "proprietary eponym" for this type of clear tape, along the same lines as Band-Aid, Kleenex, and Saran wrap for their respective products. This generally happens only when a product is the best of its kind and has become the de-facto standard. This is certainly the case for Scotch Tape. It may cost a little more, but it generally worth it. Highly Recommended! |
Perfect size & dispenser for kids | | Review Date: September 5, 2009 | | Reviewer: J. Offenbach, N VA | | For as long as I can remember, I've been asked, "Please pass me the scotch tape," not "Please pass me the tape so I can wrap this birthday present." Most of us refer to clear tapes as "scotch tape," not recognizing that there are assorted manufacturers of this adhesive. Of all the tapes I've tried, Scotch Magic Tape is worthy of its name. Since it "disappears" when used to hold items together, is becomes "invisible" and it does not turn yellow over the years, roll up on the sides, or get sticky on the surface with the years. It is safe for photographs and will not make a mess of them as happened when I used an impostor many years ago. These plastic rolls seem less sturdy than those of years past, however, they are still more sturdy than most others I've recently seen and used. These particular rolls are NOT refillable like others which have a hard two sided plastic case. They are very lightweight, one side is open and the other is the clear plastic shell. The cutter blade is molded right into the plastic, so little people's hands would be safer when using this dispenser than many others. Would fit well in a backpack or little art supply case. I like having these in drawers throughout my home so I don't have to search for the tape when I need to attach one piece of paper to another. Makes sealing open envelopes a breeze and the 3/4" width is a more desirable size for my needs. I find that I end up using fewer inches in the long run. |
Kleenex tissue, Heinz Ketchup, ans Scotch tape | | Review Date: September 14, 2009 | | Reviewer: James Cooper, Pennsylvania | There's tape and there's tape. When you're buying tissue, Kleenex won't let you down. Scotch is the standard for tape. And if you happen to need 3 rolls, finding this page is Kismet. What more can one say? Makes a wonderful house-gift, too. Or keep one in your cart as a filler when you're just short of free shipping.

Item -5-stars, cost-1-star | | Review Date: September 3, 2009 | | Reviewer: John H. Gruver, Moss Beach, CA USA | | So, it's scotch tape. The worst thing is that it was in my gold box the day after it arrived for less than half what I paid! Oh well, timing is everything. |
it makes a difference!!! | | Review Date: September 12, 2009 | | Reviewer: Robert W. Smith, Virginia, USA | | ok, i'm actually reviewing scotch tape! ha! now that i have kidz, scotch tape becomes invaluable, we use it for wrapping christmas and birthday packages, the backs of envelopes especially those that are a little bulgy or that have $$$ in them. a couple times a year, it seems to be used for styling my kidz' hair or barbie's hair. BLAH!!!! for present-wrapping, i can say that scotch tape has what seems to me to be the finest ability to stick and stay upon wrapping paper. i've bought some generic brands that fall apart. and then, one of the most important things, is that while i use all 18 of my hands trying to hold scissors, tape, tape dispenser, and holding the box in 15 places, the tape pulls out smoothly and i can tear it off quickly and cleanly. nobody's invented a good way yet of stopping over pulling or loose tape snuggling back on the roll, so i've gotta spend an hour pulling snippets of tape off the roll till the sides match and i can resume wrapping. i think that this brand is worth paying the extra few cents. i think that i consume as much tape as i have, whether it's one roll or 50 rolls. 3 is nice! |
